The exhibition TUTANKHAMUN - HIS TOMB AND HIS TREASURES whisks you off to the enigmatic world of pyramids, mummies and hieroglyphics. Visitors can see for themselves the one and only complete reconstruction of the most fascinating tomb in human history, with the treasures on show made to museum quality. The reconstruction, built to the exact dimensions of the original, presents the funerary treasure of the legendary pharaoh just as its discoverer, Howard Carter, found it in 1922.
More than 1,000 objects in 4000m²
On 4th November 1922, the British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun intact. It was 3,300 years old! King of ancient Egypt in the XVIIIth dynasty, the pharaoh ruled from 1332 to 1323 BC. His burial chambers have been perfectly recreated for the exhibition “Tutankhamun, his Tomb and his Treasures”. From 20th April to 6th November 2011, you can admire more than 1,000 fascinating replica artefacts spread out over 4,000 m² at Brussels Expo.Tutankhamun also at the Cinquantenaire Museum
As the biggest museum of Egyptian art in Belgium, the Cinquantenaire Museum has decided to add to the “Tutankhamun, his Tomb and his Treasures” exhibition with a special temporary exhibition of its own from 20th April to 6th November 2011.http://www.kingtutbrussels.be/
